What is the single best thing about working at TikTok? The ability to make a change! What are you currently working on? At TikTok, no two days are the same, hence we have many exciting projects on-going as well as upcoming. In general, we are constantly working on improving our user experience through adding or adjusting features such as special effects, cool stickers, and other video editing tools to make it easy for users to create fun short videos. Currently overall our focus is to build a better, positive and more rewarding community and dedicating our global resources to supporting creators by giving them a wider reach and more powerful and easy-to-use tools for creativity. What roles are you bringing to Silicon Milkroundabout April 2019? We are bringing two Community Management roles for the French and UK market to Silicon Milkroundabout. Our Community Management Team works with different subcultures and tries to find out what excites them, what will bring them to the app, and why they stay. The team does not only manage the community but also the content of the platform and is at the heart of TikTok as a product. Close relationships with TikTok’s creators are essential for us and everything the community management team does is based on direct feedback from the community. The Music & Artist Relations Manager role is managing the in-app music operation, production, as well as artist relationship management, working closely with the Content team and Music Licensing team to improve the music content ecosystem in the product. TikTok’s Global Music Team finds the best ways for artists to connect with the engaged audience on TikTok (this can be done primarily through the various tools in the “Add a Sound” section on the app). The Brand Strategist and Brand Partnerships Roles are ideal for Silicon Milkroundabout visitors who are self-starters and fast learners with strong critical-thinking skills. Basically, we look for well-rounded digital marketers, especially those with strong knowledge of the mobile and social media landscape. How does your hiring process usually work? We tend to move forward quickly because we have the means to make effective and efficient hiring decisions. A typical full-cycle interview process consists of business and HR interviews. Although we always try to offer face-to-face interviews for all candidates, we are respectful to our candidates’ availability, therefore, we also have remote interviewing tools. What’s your top tip for applicants coming to Silicon Milkroundabout? Stay true to yourself!
